More Information
Dr. Kiarash Golshani is a board-certified, fellowship-trained UCI Health neurosurgeon who specializes in neurological spine surgery, neurointerventional radiology, cerebrovascular surgery, skull base surgery and general neurosurgery.
Golshani earned his medical degree at Oregon Health & Science University in Portland, where he also completed an internship in general surgery and a residency in neurological surgery. He received fellowship training in endovascular neurosurgery and interventional radiology at Duke University School of Medicine in Durham, N.C.
His research interests include vascular and endovascular neurosurgery and skull base tumors. He is also the author or co-author of numerous research papers published in peer-reviewed journals.
Golshani's advanced training in neurointerventional radiology and endovascular neurosurgery allows him to use minimally invasive techniques to treat conditions that otherwise would require open skull surgery. For these procedures, he uses tiny catheters and precision instruments that are threaded through blood vessels to the exact location of the cerebrovascular problem. Such minimally invasive techniques result in faster recovery times, less scarring and shortened hospital stays for patients.
His training in open cerebrovascular techniques also allows him to weigh the risks of each technique for individual patients and recommend treatment with the least likelihood of complications.
Golshani, who also is fluent in Farsi, sees patients in Orange.
